The Spit Muffins

Kimble's raw-throated vocals, Herbie's crazy guitar playing and dubious fashion non-sense, Carl's perpetual smile, and the rest of the crew. These guys put on the most dependably fun and rockin' live set of any band I've known. They did a killer rendition of "Ace of Spades"; rumor has it that Kimble actually met Lemmy at a bar in the midwest somewhere, and he was favorably impressed. I'd kill for a complete version of it -- the bit at the end of "Bubs" is just not enough. I'm still sad that I missed their reunion show in the late 90's; I don't know what my excuse was, but I'm sure it was pathetic.

I don't know what became of these folks. I think Herbie was a computer geek of some sort, so he probably went back to that, but that's just a guess. If anyone knows, drop me a line at krid at otisbean dot com.
