52 Frames
In January of 2020 I decided to participate in the 52 Frames weekly photography challenge. I found it very helpful to have a reason to do something every week, whether or not I was in the mood (and given how 2020 turned out I wasn’t in the mood very often). I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was able to keep it up for the entire year, never missing a week.
Since then I’ve stuck with it, shooting every week except for 2022 when I stopped in May (mistakenly thinking I’d redirect my energy to personal projects). The consistent weekly work has been extremely valuable in helping me build my skills, both behind the camera and in post-processing. Looking over the hundreds of photos and years of galleries I can see the gradual improvement.
